四川大凉山上的偏僻原民村落，过着人畜共食的生活。近年来，村庄通电有了电视，也陆续有大学生支教志愿者前来授课。苏甘以布与孤母相依为命，不识字的他借着电视与听课窥视外界。他赞许领导人政策，与来来去去的代课老师们谈起政治、经济、教育，不同认知与价值观针锋相对，带出对落后与文明的矛盾反思。。Herzog takes a film crew to the island of Guadeloupe when he hears that the volcano on the island is going to erupt. Everyone has left, except for one old man who refuses to leave. Herzog catches the eeriness of an abandoned city, with stop lights cycling over an empty intersection.。
