This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。该片讲述的并非是“二女相争必有一失”的传统戏码，而是两位旗鼓相当的女演员为了夺得“卓文君”一角争奇斗艳，花招百出。工作中的竞争愈演愈烈的同时，一个号称“疯三绝”的不速之客出现在她们的生活中，爱情成为了二人的又一战场。。
