小村少年端木夜雨，幼时被余烬城的地狱猎兵救过性命。出于对英雄的崇拜，他励志也要成为地狱猎兵。就在夜雨坐上了前往余烬城的大巴车，开始了自己的追梦之旅时，却卷入了一场风波。一场由小人物善举引发的灭城之战，一触即发。。An anthology series in which each episode is a self-contained story set in a different world, with all stories linked together by an asteroid called the Metal Hurlant, which is passing close to the planet that is the focus of the current episode.。Richard（莱昂内尔·斯坦德 Lionel Stander 饰）和Albie开着车，Albie的枪走火射中了自己，Richard只能到附近的岛上寻求帮助。岛上住着一对夫妻：George（唐纳德·普利森斯 Donald Pleasence 饰）和Teresa（弗朗索瓦·朵列 Françoise Dorléac 饰）。Teresa淘气爱玩，而George则懦弱无能。两人在Richard的威胁下一起埋葬了死去的Albie，并和Richard一起等待他的老板卡特派来的人来接他。不久，George的老朋友们来岛上看望他，Richard则伪装成他们的园丁。他们和Richard之间的矛盾不断加剧，终于酿成一场血腥惨案...... 本片赢得1966年柏林电影节金熊奖。。
