"A Walk to Beautiful" tells the story of five women in Ethiopia suffering from devastating childbirth injuries. Rejected by their husbands and ostracized by their communities, these women are left to spend the rest of their lives in loneliness and shame. We follow each of these women on their journey to a special hospital in Addis Ababa where they find solace for the first time...。80年代，江城。商人周冲，因为好友夏逸的举报，涉嫌投机锒铛入狱。周冲的妻子抛弃了他们的孩子，人间蒸发。周冲的孩子更名夏瞳，被夏逸收养。铁画匠人星子，她的丈夫死于80年代抗洪抢险。后来，因为救溺水的夏瞳，星子也溺亡。她的孩子——于悦，也被夏逸收养。就这样，夏逸和他的妻子丁薇、自己的孩子夏言，以及收养的两个孩子夏瞳和于悦安稳地过了十多年。十多年后，周冲出狱，激起了曾经的往事。于悦了解到了自己妈妈的死、夏瞳知道了自己父亲被举报的事实，加之以这个野兽一样冲动的周冲对夏家频繁的骚扰……夏逸一家五口温情不再，变得戒备、冷血……。
