在精神病院度过十年后，前报社记者阿麟（黄秋生 饰）病愈出院，试图重新融入社会。他租下一间公寓，决定写小说维生。作品进展及其不顺利，阿麟饱受困扰之时，又发现公寓里头不对劲，有时他会穿越回十年前的场景，见到当时住在此屋的一家人——老父亲和一对姐妹。隔着时空，原本只是观察，但后来阿麟慢慢发现，他和妹妹Dolphin（陈海恒饰）之间产生了感应，接触之下，他成了Dolphin的“守护天使”。此时姐姐Whale（黎海珊 饰）正和一位风度翩翩的大学老师（吴启华 饰）谈恋爱，但在一次约会后整个人失踪了。阿麟开始帮助Dolphin追查姐姐失踪的真相，陷入一场时空混乱的大麻烦……
