马识途坐牢二十三年，刑满释放，已年近花甲，赶回老家汉东参加女儿的婚礼，见证她的幸福时刻。处于叛逆期的17岁少女刘子秋，自幼丧母，其父亲刘峰是上市公司老板，平时忙于工作，并娶了年轻后妈周雨露，引起刘子秋不满并百般阻挠。 在一次与父亲的争吵之后，刘子秋离家出走，前往汉东祭拜过世的母亲。
