贪婪阴险的孙大妈伙同崔胡子和胭脂虎夫妻俩，设计将大香卖到了两人经营的“同香院”中。眼看女儿遭受着非人的待遇，绝望的佟李氏选择了跳河自尽。然而尚幼林却没有放弃希望，想方设法替大香赎身，却最终以失败告终。1949年北平解放，解放军的到来让大香终于重新获得了自由。。
