A group of friends reunite for an evening after one of their own has a gnarly divorce. As it's been almost a decade since they were all together, waxing nostalgic, they decide to play a drinking game. 1914年世界大战爆发，战火蔓延到这个边远小镇。镇上的戈辛父子借战争大发其财，其子埃米尔（Jean-Paul Rouve 饰）也与安琪（Laetitia Casta 莉苔希娅•考斯特 饰）定下了婚事。要强的安琪决心成为法国第一位女兽医，他和俄罗斯野兽搜寻者开飞机寻找家乡的狼群。飞机失事，受伤的安琪被卡卡和人们称之为疯子的吉塞比（Stefano Accorsi 饰）解救。愤怒的埃米尔认为狼群吃掉了未婚妻，遂决定将最后的野狼赶杀殆尽……。中法战争初期，黑旗军刘永福领兵屡败法军，而此时清廷的苟安政策推行，荣禄不惜丧权辱国，力主停战,但不为刘接受，副将王守忠（何家劲饰）更屡战屡胜。荣禄爪牙利诱忠不遂，设计逼害,从而引起一连串的绝境逃亡,武林中的冷血斗争、以及爱与恨的矛盾……。
